A Letter From Lily

October 13th, 2008

Hey Friend!

It is usually around the beginning of October that I'm acutely aware of how much I love seasons. The dog days of summer lasted way too long this year. Unfortunately, my baseball team didn't make the post season, but never fear ... the fall premiers of all my favorite shows are here ... and with Halloween just around the corner (I'm a firm believer you're never too old to dress up) I can always find my favorite candy in bulk at the local grocery store (I'll of course be lamenting this come spring when I'm starting to think about swimsuit season again).

Hopefully by now you've taken all your books out of the cellophane and you're well on your way to a great semester. I'm sure there are more facts and stats and "to-dos" floating around in your head than you could ever hope to keep straight, but as you fight to stay on top of things, take a minute to check out what's new at Lily7.com.

The Consider Lily gals have been discussing the benefits of mentoring as well as debating about the recent petition of 100+ University presidents who believe the legal drinking age should be lowered to 18. As always, we love comments and opinions, so don't be shy!

Feeling inadequate, plain, or insignificant? Check out Y Am I Important? to be reminded that your unique gifts and talents are of great importance. My, My, My will also help take your focus off of yourself and onto the great love of Jesus Christ.

Fall is a great time to curl up by a fire with some hot cocoa and read a great book. Maybe you're like Sally Conroy and like to read the last page first ... to each their own! Feel free to browse our "we like" or "resource" sections for some suggestions on great reading/listening material (as if your syllabus isn't "suggesting" enough reading already!).

I'll soon be complaining about the cold and wishing it were summer again, but for now, enjoy the season you're in (weather and life alike).

Until next time,

Lily* ... *So you caught us ... Lily isn't a real person. Lily is you - the everyday college woman. (Sneaky how we're all metaphorical with that, eh?)

p.s. If you want, you can pass this note to a friend.
p.p.s. We're on Facebook now ... become a fan!
