What is Lily7? Lily7 is a website committed to helping college women investigate their world, their faith, and their purpose. By doing this, Lily7 hopes to help create changed hearts in the lives of college women. Formed by a group of women committed to encouraging, challenging, and preparing college women for life and ministry, the ministry was officially established in 2003 under the name P31 Ministries, Inc., and began providing retreats for college women in April of 2004. In the summer of 2005, the name was changed to Lily7, which stands for "purity completed in Christ" and represents the desire for purity of mind, heart, and soul in our relationship with Christ. Since that time, Lily7 has grown to connect with women throughout the United States and other countries through our website and by providing various resources. What does Lily7 mean? Lily7: Purity completed in Christ. /lil'e/ adj. fairness, purity /sev'en/ n. perfect, completion The name Lily7 brings together the fundamental truths that our ministry strives to instill in the lives of college women. Purity of mind, heart, and body is possible — and made complete — through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Who is Lily? So you caught us ... Lily isn't a real person. Lily is you — the everyday college woman. (Sneaky how we're all metaphorical with that, eh?) What is Lily7 Live? Lily7 Live was the name of our collegiate women's retreat. Lily7 partnered with existing collegiate ministries to put on a Lily7 Live event. These events were provided at cost to the local ministry bringing in the Lily7 Live team and centered around small group interaction in addition to large group worship and teaching sessions. At present, Lily7 is not providing the Lily7 Live event in order to focus on the large number of students connecting to us through our website. If a ministry is interested in providing an event for their collegiate women, we can provide a speaker and/or worship leader. Will Lily7 offer Lily7 Live in the future? It became evident to us in the Spring of 2006 that God was moving in Lily7's connection to the collegiate world through the interaction of email and our website. Right now we believe that our mission statement is best fulfilled by focusing our energy toward the full utilization of the Lily7 Web site. Our board of directors believes that we may revive the events at some point in the future, but for now we are excited to be connecting to collegiate women through the Internet. What is "Consider Lily"? "Consider Lily" is a group of women who have committed to sharing their lives with collegiate women through their dialogue about various life issues bi-weekly. These women, each with a different background, believe that they provide a "big sister" perspective on life. From time to time, "Consider Lily" will include "guest dialoguers" for their various discussion topics. Read the latest "Consider Lily." What resources does Lily7 provide? Lily7 provides various resources (including Bible studies, speaker and worship leader connections, and articles) for those wishing to connect with Lily7. Most Lily7 staff are volunteers, and willingly give their time to the ministry. Another vital part of our support is our prayer partners who commit to praying for our ministry on a regular basis.
